On the first day Mary Richardson commuted from Lincoln to attend Concord High School, she saw Bill Anderson walk into class and was awestruck. Leaving nothing to chance, she made connection and soon started dating the handsome young man. He was quiet, she was outgoing.
In 1945, as World War II was concluding, the two married in the back yard of the family home on Nine Acre Corner. Bill fulfilled his military obligations in CA and SC before the couple settled in Concord on Hubbard Street. Bill and Mary raised four children (Ken, Bill, Pook and Lib) in the house which was located within walking distance to schools, Concord center and Emerson Playground. The decades on Hubbard Street were animated, busy, social and quintessentially baby boomer culture.
